Heather Headley ha confirmado a través de su facebook que le han ofrecido el papel y que se lo está pensando. Ha pedido la opinión de sus seguidores. El musical se estrenaría primero en Londres y luego iría a Broadway, y tiene pinta de que será un jukebox de Whitney Houston, porque dice que se van a utilizar muchas canciones de su catálogo:

"So, let's talk about London.... Yes! I've been offered the role of Rachel in the musical version The Bodyguard. Very Honored! The script has been rewritten a bit and it's very interesting. Needless to say, the music is great (they're using many of the songs of Whitney's catalogue) - - very challenging, but great. We'll start on the West End in London and then we'll move to Broadway (if all goes well - - I think it will). Anyhow, give me your thoughts. What do you think about this one? To be or not to be - - that is the question...."

The Bodyguard, protagonizado por Heather Headley y Lloyd Owen, se estrenará en el Adelphi Theatre de Londres el 5 de diciembre (con previas desde el 6 de noviembre).

Estuve dos veces en las previas, y he de decir que es un musical maravilloso, aunque sea un jukebox. Es muy elegante, tiene una escenografía muy buena, y Heather es una pasada de artista. Tiene muy buen elenco, y las canciones tienen una presentación poco ostentuosa pero muy espectacular. Yo lo considero un musical altamente recomendable.
