Diversionary Theatre has announced an extension for the world premiere of the new musical TL;DR: Thelma Louise; Dyke Remix, book and lyrics by EllaRose Chary, music and lyrics by Brandon James Gwinn, direction by Sherri Eden Barber, and musical direction by E. Renée Gamez.

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts has announced its 2024–2025 theater season featuring a world premiere, exclusive engagements, and the latest Broadway hits.

In December of 2023, Broadway luminaries gathered together to celebrate the historic partnership and songs of Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II. We spoke to Director/Choreographer Marc Robin about Maine Maine State Music Theatre (MSMT)'s upcoming production of the timeless classic, Rodgers & Hammerstein’s South Pacific, the inaugural production for the 2024 Season. Since its premiere in 1949, South Pacific has captivated audiences worldwide, earning widespread acclaim and numerous accolades, including numerous Tony Awards and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama.

Some musicals from Broadway past, however, have used dance as the driving force of the musical narrative. For its 14th summer, Rhinebeck Writers Retreat is hosting 24 award-winning musical theatre writers of nine new musicals for nine consecutive weeklong residencies between June 23 and August 25. Each writing team will live in a private home in the Hudson Valley for one week to focus solely on writing their musical.
